• Update the fw

If its working, you are fine
Or got blackscreen? -> restore your emuNand backup and keep staying on FW11.9

You can boot your emuNand with success.
But doesn't work on 11.10

Currently running Luma3DS+Boot9Strap+Gateway 3DS on my old 3DS model, SysNAND 4.2.0-9U and EmuNAND 11.9.0-42U, I can confirm that 11.10.0-43X breaks the select function for the Gateway. DO NOT UPDATE for the time being until a proper fix comes. If you wish to see for yourself, make a backup of your EmuNAND, then proceed to update via the system settings. Everything else seems to work just fine, unsure about the eShop though, someone should look into that.

i will help you guys, fw 11.10 updated the home menu so the "0004003000009802.cia", if you update this cia the select on gateway won't work so you have to use sysupdater and remove this cia, emunand will work and select will work, remember to avoid even the cia "0004013000002D02" as i stated in another post in this discussion

I HAVE a EUR old 3ds xl, dunno if the new3ds has another .cia in the firmware.

So you're saying:
Download 11.10 manually
Delete from the folder:
- 0004003000009802.cia
- 0004013000002D02.cia
Then update using sysupdater.
And GW will then work with 11.10 Emunand, even the Select button?
Is that exactly what you have running ?

exactly, if you have an eur 3ds xl, try this.
- 0004003000009802.cia is the home update, which causes the issue with the select button
- 0004013000002D02.cia is the eshop update, which causes the black screen if you update it
REMEMBER THAT IF YOU WANT TO PLAY ONLINE WITH A GAME (FOR EX POKEMON ULTRASUN REQUIRES 1.2 GAME VERSION UPDATE), WITH THIS UPDATE TO 11.10 YOU HAVE TO MANUALLY INSTALL THE GAME VERSION UPDATE AGAIN.

Which eshop update black screen are you talking about ?
Some users have tried full 11.10 and the only thing that didnt seem to work was the Select button..

I had a black screen when i updated with official way, that's even before the 11.10, i can't update without delete the eshop cia, btw let me know, you should be able to use the select button after update without the home menu cia in 11.10

you can generate the full firmware yourself with 3DNUS
Enter 11.10.0-43 or just 11.10 and the region: J, U or E

I have manually updated 11.10.0-44E.
Select button on gateway works great.
But E Shop dont work... It say i must update my system...

I still say wait for an update from @123ab for 11.10 as he really is the only one currently that can give us proper support for this firmware. It's cool that everyone is finding workarounds, however don't rush into it yet, who knows what works and what doesn't work still.

hmm i had no issue going from 11.8 to 11.9 the official way as instructed in this thread. Eshop works ok (except the download issue ofc), but i can browse, etc
So not sure what to do about the eshop cia when updating to 11.10..

@123ab has been missing in action on this thread for months, I doubt he's ever coming g back

@ps24u i updated without 0004003000009802.cia, and the online it's working, but when i try to open the eshop, it claims a system update is needed.

In any case i'm happy i can play online again.

No, but mostly because i did a diff between 11.9.0-42E and 11.10.0-43E and the only modified files are 000400DB00017102, 000400DB20016102, 0004001B00010802,0004003000009802 (homemenu) and 0004013000003402.
So i installed only these without the homemenu one as i said.

VNICE, ok thanks for these precisions but what firmware did you come from?
11.8 from 123ab method, to 11.9 via system settings?
Or did you go directly from 11.8 to 11.10?
